Paul's Friend Tychicus (Pack of 10)
Tract-0472Paul's Friend Tychicus (Pack of 10)
There are 120 people directly associated with the apostle Paul in the New Testament. Some were enemies (Alexander, Barjesus, Tertullus); some are well known (Timothy, Barnabas, Titus); some are known but not well known (Erastus, Artemas, Zenas); some are only
named (Eubulus, Pudens, Linus); many are anonymous.
Tychicus falls into the third category—known but not well known. It is reasonable to suppose that Paul converted him, perhaps among the first in Asia, although this is not recorded. Paul describes him as a “beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord” (Ephesians 6:21).
In their pre-Christian days, Paul and Tychicus would likely have never met since Tychicus was a Gentile. Now their lives were entwined (cf. Ephesians 2:11–17). Tychicus is mentioned five times in the New Testament. His life was apparently spent in constant travel for the gospel.
