God's Sharecroppers - Matthew 13 (Pack of 10)

In the time of Jesus, farmland in Palestine was largely in the hands of absentee landlords. These owners leased estates to tenant farmers who worked the land and paid their rent to the owners with the food they harvested. In modern language, we would call them “sharecroppers.”
Jesus is presently an absentee landlord who possesses the whole earth (Psalm 24:1). He has leased it out to His followers with the assignment to sow seeds throughout the world (Mark 16:15–16). We are God’s sharecroppers.
Jesus illustrated this arrangement with the Parable of
the Sower (Matthew 13:3–9, 18–23; Mark 4:2–9, 13–20; Luke 8:4–8, 11–15). A sower cast seed on many different kinds of soils, and each grew differently.
