There are false accusations made about the church of Christ, but not all criticisms are based on misunderstanding and misrepresentation. Often, accusations against the church are correctly stated and represent a different understanding of the Bible or difference in worldview. 

Churches of Christ believe church membership is essential. We do not believe that membership in any denomination is essential or even acceptable. Before you dismiss us as dogmatics who should be ostracized, dismissed, or pitied, consider a few thoughts.
