So long as Jesus has sheep, He will need shepherds (Acts 20:17, 28–32; Ephesians 4:8–16). Elders have an important job (1 Timothy 3:1). A church is unlikely to rise above it leaders. It will be about as faithful as those that lead it. Thus we see the inestimable value of knowledgeable, dedicated, qualified, and skilled elders.
Shepherding can be challenging. At times, it is discouraging. Leadership at any level in current culture is difficult. On the other hand, Christianity is the helping-hand religion. Sheep want to make it as easy to shepherd them as possible.
How can we help elders?
