For years, we have been asked to provide the charts from Evangelism Simplified in a more practical form. Using a book with traditional binding poses difficulties as it is hard to lay flat on a table during a study or to fold it for easier viewing. Moreover, it can contain much unnecessary information and become a distraction. Therefore, we decided to print these charts in a format more useful for the actual study.
People learn by what they see at a much higher rate than what they hear. There are times during a study when the sinner struggles to understand a concept that is stated in the Bible. Providing a visual picture of the teaching can be a game changer. Visual pictures are like parables that create an earthly story to teach a spiritual principle.

Early in our evangelism efforts, one of our students struggled to understand eternity as it relates to the origin of God. I used Chart 1: “What Is Eternity?” (see Chart 1). I drew three things on a piece of paper. First, I drew a ray, then a segment, and lastly, a line. Each one demonstrates time. The ray has a starting and ending point, thus representing temporal things on earth. The segment has a starting point but no ending and represents things with a beginning but no ending as a man. The line has no beginning and no end, thus representing the eternal God. You don’t have to be an artist to draw three lines. Once the sinner saw it, he smiled and said, “That makes sense!”
