A Little-Known Mother Who Changed the World

Mothers generally receive little acclaim, yet they tremendously impact the world and have outsized influence in our lives. Appropriately, Jochebed is a mother who has both characteristics. She receives little attention in Scripture. Her name is found only twice (Exodus 6:20; Numbers 26:59), yet she produced Moses who became one of the greatest men who ever lived.

Jochebed’s story is found in Exodus 2. She exhibited three qualities of motherhood that are a good example to all mothers.
