(14) Fourteen Chapters and No Sins (Pack of 10)
Tract-0480(14) Fourteen Chapters and No Sins (Pack of 10)
The Bible reveals the sins of its heroes as it does its villains. Noah got drunk and was uncovered in his tent. Abraham lied (twice). Jacob cheated his brother out of his birthright. Moses struck the rock. Eli was a bad father. David committed adultery and murder.
Solomon’s wives turned his heart from God. Judas betrayed the Lord. Peter denied Him. Thomas doubted. Saul/Paul persecuted the church.
What sin did Joseph commit? Having trouble coming up with one? You are not alone.
More chapters of Genesis are dedicated to Joseph than any other patriarch (Genesis 37–50). In all those chapters, there is not a single sin marked against his name. This does not mean that he did not sin, for all sin (Romans 3:23). It must mean, though, that he sinned
less than most, and that his sins were more like misdemeanors compared to the felonies of other patriarchs and Bible characters.
In this, Joseph is a type of Christ who did no sin and had no deceit in Him (1 Peter 2:21–22; Hebrews 4:15; 7:26).
