After his sin with Bathsheba, David felt filthy— smudged, stained, and ashamed. He cried out,
“Create in me a clean heart, O God” (Psalm 51:10). We have not sinned exactly as David did, but we know the feeling: the heaviness, the distance from God, the awareness that our hearts have been dragged through the muck of sin.

So how do we regain purity of heart?
