God Is Counting on You, Dad (Pack of 10)
tract-0527God Is Counting on You, Dad (Pack of 10)
Solomon recognized the usual three living generations by referring to grandparents, fathers, and sons (cf. Proverbs 13:22; 17:6). Fathers occupy the pivotal, central position. They are the living links between yesterday’s wisdom and tomorrow’s promise.
As a son, the father learned from his father, and he is now in a position to see from the viewpoints of both a son and a father. The young son is entering new territory; he has not passed this way before (Joshua 3:4). He might learn the way without his father’s advice, but the tuition is high in the school of hard knocks.
Paul’s principle regarding passing the gospel from one generation to another has an application to grandfathers, fathers, and sons: “The things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to
teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2).
teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2).
